Alysha Lee

Alysha is broadly interested in identifying unifying themes in bacterial sterol biosynthesis, modification, and regulation. Her current research focuses on identifying enzymes unique to bacterial biosynthesis of complex sterols in the myxobacteria Enhygromyxa salina and identifying regulatory mechanisms underpinning biosynthesis in the methanotroph Methylomicrobium alcaliphium. When not in the lab, Alysha enjoys playing ridiculous board games and baking overly ambitious cakes.
